Screenshot for Symbian OS (UIQ3) is Coming Soon
Screenshot January 31st. 2007, 9:29pmI believe many of you have been using my freeware application, Screenshot for Symbian OS. Currently it is available on several platforms, i.e. S60 1st, 2nd, 3rd and UIQ 2. Some users have been asking me whether I am going to release a version for UIQ 3 platform. I told them that I was considering supporting UIQ 3. The only problem is I didn’t have any UIQ 3 devices. How can I port an application to a device that I never use?
Fortunately, I have a UIQ 3 device now, which is Sony Ericsson P990i. Thanks a lot to 1800mobiles.com who have kindly provided me with a new UIQ 3 device. If you haven’t heard about 1800mobiles.com, it is a mobile phones shop based in the United States. You can buy phones online from them. They provide comprehensive reviews on many mobile phones as well.
Back to my Screenshot application, I can start porting it to UIQ 3 now. I have heard that the new user interface framework of UIQ 3 is a little bit complicated. The reason is because they are now supporting multiple resolution as well as non-stylus devices.
Let’s see…. hope I can publish the first screenshot taken from UIQ 3 this weekend.

@Mark: I am still working on it. Unfortunately, I have been really busy these days. So, it is not finished yet.
