Why Nokia E-Series Blogs are Closing Down?
Trends December 26th. 2006, 12:33pm
Around three months ago, Tommi Vilkammo from S60 Blogs posted a blog highlighting the fact that there are more Nokia E-Series blogs than Nokia N-Series. The last number shows there are 19 blogs about Nokia E-Series. It’s a good starting point, isn’t it?
Surprisingly, three months later, some of them have been officially discontinued or not updated.
- E61 Blog. The author has decided to discontinue his blog about three weeks ago because of his other works commitments.
- E61Life.com. Daniel has decided to close his blog permanently too. The interesting thing is that he posted his decision on Christmas day.
- Roaming Smartphone. After using Nokia E61 for six months, Patrick has decided to go back to Palm Treo.
- E70 World. I am not really what happened to this blog because it is written in Italian language. However, according Google Translator’s translation of the last post, it seems that the author’s phone is damaged.
- Nokia E61. The last posting from this blog is almost half a year ago; can we assume the blog is dead already?
I was surprise to see some of good blogs are closing down. For example, E61 Blog ranks 71698 in Technorati and E61Life.com ranks 44547 (as of December 26, 2006). The numbers prove that those blogs are relatively popular.
Anyway, good luck for the authors who have decided to discontinue their Nokia E-Series blogs.

May be the lack of killer-apps for S603rd is one reason to live E-Series devices.. in my case I use a E61 because I need RIM BlackBerry functionnalities (and RIM Devices sucks
for PDA Geeks)..

@erwann: It’s true that Nokia E-Series still lacks of killer application. One of the reasons could be Platform Security in Symbian OS 9. Many developers found Platform Security is so painful.

I had to close because of personal matters and new work :/ There is simply no time to continue the blog effectively.

@Daniel: Thanks for the clarification. It’s a pity because your blog is one of my favorite ones. Anyway, good luck for your new work.
